White Hall maintains its own pack of working hounds that are the ambassadors of the entire operation. The hounds are central to our outings and help raise awareness of our conservation efforts. The Hounds are of the famous
“Penn-Marydel” breeding, which are known for their voices and keen ability to follow scents. White Hall Hounds largely come from the famous "Doc Addis" line of hounds and continue to be bred and drafted from that same lineage to keep the ideal Addis hound alive.
The Hounds go out twice weekly in-season to explore the countryside and bring people together to enjoy wildlife and the outdoors. White Hall strongly supports the idea that anyone can be involved regardless of background or experience. There are many opportunities to work with the farm and its hounds and horses. We encourage one and all to come experience the outdoors, horsemanship and hound work, especially young riders and those new to horses and hounds. Those wishing to follow hounds on foot, in a car or on a bicycle are welcome and encouraged, you needn’t own a horse or even be a “horse person”. Those wishing to participate in activities should contact Ms. Suji Helmer, Joint Master.
